Meet the talkSPORT Presenters

An experienced and respected broadcaster, Mark Saggers joined talkSPORT in June 2009 from BBC Radio 5 Live after the corporation decided not to renew his contract.

His early career as breakfast presenter at BBC Radio Cambridgeshire was combined with playing county cricket and turning out for Cambridge United reserves, when Dion Dublin made it into the first team. Saggers’ next step was to join BBC Radio Sport, where he worked alongside Cliff Morgan, Henry Blofeld and Peter Jones, as well as being the regular sporting voice for BBC Radio 4's Today programme. He also won a Sony Radio Award for his reporting of the Grand National false start in 1992.

Saggers’ left the BBC and joined Sky News as their senior sports correspondent. He presented the ground-breaking Sportsline programme, winning television awards for coverage of Terry Venables's resignation as England manager, the football riots in Italy and France, and the Sydney Olympics.

In 2001, Saggers’ returned to BBC Radio and joined Radio 5 Live. He has commentated on Test Match Special and presented 5 Live Sport for BBC Radio 5 Live before moving to talkSPORT in 2009 initially presenting the Saturday afternoon All Sports Show and The Weekend Sports Breakfast.

He is also proud to be a patron of the Anna's Hope Charity, and relaxes with long walks in the country, sometimes with a golf club, sometimes with his wife Jane and daughter Gemma and Harvey the dog.
