| talkSPORT Presenter Profiles Meet the talkSPORT Presenters Geoff Peters joined talkSPORT in 1999 following four years at BBC Radio Leicester between 1992 and 1996 and freelance work in 1998 with Sky News Radio, Independent Radio News and BBC Cambridgeshire. Geoff had been working behind the scenes at BBC Radio Leicester from the age of 13 and went on to work for a free weekly newspaper when leaving school at the age of 16. Following a spell at a press agency, at 19, he went full-time into radio with the BBC in Leicester as a sports reporter, commentator and then producer. After leaving BBC Radio Leicester to work abroad, Geoff decided on a change of career and became a holiday rep in Ibiza and then a DJ in Egypt before returning to the UK to write about his beloved Leicester City. O’Neil: Crest of a Wave, about then manager Martin O’Neil, was published in 1998. Shortly after, Geoff started freelancing for various organisations, including BBC Radio, 106 Century FM, ITN and for talkSPORT from 1999 where he has been in a number of roles including reporter and presenter. Currently, Geoff is a reporter on Matchday Live and Evening Kick-Off at Premier League and Football League matches around the Midlands. In addition, he was also a commentator for talkSPORT alongside Jason Cundy at the 2006 World Cup in Germany and describes it as one of the highlights of his career to date. Whilst at talkSPORT, he has presented a number of programmes including the Sunday afternoon football phone-in show Call the Doc alongside former Manchester United and Chelsea Manager Tommy Docherty in 2001. Geoff also presented The Christmas Day Sports Breakfast in 2001 and 2002 and has hosted a short-lived rugby league show and short-lived cricket show. He has also read news and sports bulletins and hosted Sportswatch, talkSPORT's in-depth lunchtime sports bulletin and round-up. Geoff is also a regular commentator for UEFA on Champions League matches for the UEFA website alongside talkSPORT regulars Tim White and Mark Tompkins. He is also a reporter for the Official Leicester City Football Club Matchday Magazine writing a number of articles including the Alan Birchenall column and the interviews with the opposition manager and player. When not on the radio, Geoff is a DJ in various clubs around the Midlands including Leicester, Derby and Telford as, wait for it, DJ Wanker.
